If you are finding yourself spending A LOT of time at home and think you might have a case of the "quarantine blues" I have some home improvement suggestions that will help you out.
This post is for the people who are noticing flaws in their home in which they are looking for a quick and effective fix for. This is also for the people who have noticed these flaws for a LONG time and are actually ready to do something about them.
Painting
Paint an accent wall with a bright color or buy a stencil from your local craft/hobby store.
Use old paint you have sitting around your home before you go out and spend more money.
Neutral colors can help improve most rooms. Keep in mind: the lighter the paint color, the larger the room looks.

Organize, Reorganize and Then Organize Again
Begin by cleaning and sanitizing any space that needs some TLC.
I was surprised to discover how much easier my life was once I began cleaning and organizing monthly and labeling my storage.
The Container Store: if you are not familiar, PLEASE look it up or go visit one ASAP. It has been my guilty pleasure for as long as I can remember and hopefully it will become yours too.
If the Container Store or a similar shop is not an option for you, I recommend Amazon to help with all your storage needs.
Move Your Furniture Around
There are plenty of free websites you can use if you want to arrange a new floor plan without hand drawing; even if you are not a designer, I suggest HomeStyler.
Sometimes the smallest change in furniture can make your space feel brand new.
Plants

I am obsessed with greenery and cannot help myself but mention it in every blog post, because, well, why not?
The picture helped me choose which plants worked best for me and my family.
Buy from your local nursery or plant shop, not only are you helping small businesses, but the employees are extremely knowledgeable and the plants they have in stock already survive in the environment you are living in.
Plants do improve our moods and who doesn’t want a better outlook throughout your day.
Lighting and Decoration

New light bulbs can completely change the tone and feel of a room.
Specific fixtures can help you stick with a theme or style throughout a space.
If you are looking for some new decor or lighting for your home, my go to for all my cheap home improvement needs is Amazon, Wayfair, or Overstock.
These websites have a great selection without having to go shopping in person.
Putting up a new picture frame, shelf or art piece can help revamp a room.
Vases, pottery, and candles are my go to when I do not know what would look good in a space.
However, sometimes you just need to move the decorations you already have around to allow for a new design and feel.
